Deliveries of the 700 series buses to Plzeň began in 1981 with the first two C 734 buses, registration numbers 300 and 301, and continued until 1995, when the last vehicle was delivered. Symbolically, it was again a C 734 type, but significantly different from its predecessors from 1981, as it was adapted for boarding and transporting wheelchairs. A total of 141 buses of the 730 series were delivered to Pilsen over 14 years. Our Karosa B 731.04, registration number 348, comes from the 15th batch of buses numbered 348 – 362, delivered to Pilsen in June 1986. The color scheme of these buses differed from all previous ones, as it was the first time the white-red paint scheme was used. Previously, all delivered urban buses had a red-beige livery.
The bus operated in regular service until the end of May 2002. After decommissioning, it was sold to the Czech Republic Police, who used it for training their intervention units. In 2009, efforts began to regain ownership of the bus for PMDP, a.s., which succeeded in March 2010 when the bus was towed back to the depot in Cukrovarská street. A long-term renovation was completed in February 2012, when the bus passed the technical inspection. Our Karosa is exceptional, as it is one of the earliest produced, characterized by a different engine (so-called "atmospheric"), axles, interior layout, seat material, and many other details. Take the opportunity to ride back to the 1980s.
The capacity of the bus is 31 seats and recommended 39 standing places.
The bus cannot be operated from November 1 to March 31
